ELECTION NIGHT MESSAGE:
- Thank you for your support and encouragement during this campaign process. This evening, we plan to stay home after the results are announced.
- In the morning, Wednesday, 11/8, we plan to receive well wishers at Sunrise Breakfast Restaurant, 1511 Butler Ave., 9:00am – 11:00am, win or lose.
Similar to Esther in the Old Testament (Esther 4:14), who was called to a place of leadership at the perfect time to help resolve complex challenges, so too with Julia as her 26 years of serving the Tybee community puts her in a unique position to navigate the complex waters “for such a time as this.”
If you know Julia, hopefully what comes to mind is a public servant who, for decades, has put herself on the line for the sake of others, such as organizing the sending of 200 petitions to the Department of Natural Resources for Tybee Island benches; who is transparent about her passion for equality and the dignity of every person as the founding board member of Rising Tyde Tybee Food Pantry; and is willing to endure the struggle with grace as the founder of TybeeMLK.
As Mayor, she will provide open government where every resident’s voice matters, and her top priority will be the safety and protection of your family, property, business, and your island lifestyle.
Orange Crush: Julia is uniquely positioned to resolve issues by building relationships with HBCU’s, the NAACP, and Black Youth Networks that use social media to produce unpermitted events. Julia’s goal would be that your properties, lifestyle, and island peace are protected.
Local Business Growth: We can count on Julia to protect businesses from zoning issues so they can thrive and grow to potential.
Sustainable Community Infrastructure: Julia will be a plum line of reason seeking balance between STVR and the neighborhoods of elderly, economically struggling, long-term rentals, youth activities and island life.
Since arriving on the island, in 1997, Julia has always strived to help our community thrive. In this effort, she has been fully engaged in the following organizations and activities:
- Savannah Safe Shelter Board
- Marine Science Board
- Concerned Citizens Committee Board
- Founding Board of Food Pantry
- Negotiator between the City of Tybee and DOJ TIMA Volunteer
- Independent Advocate for the Replacement of Benches and Swings
- Co-Founder of Tybee MLK Human Rights Organization
- International Goodwill Ambassador for City of Tybee Island in three countries on two continents
“I have dedicated my self to humanity. Committed myself to the noble struggle for Justice and Peace, in order to make a better person of my self and a finer community to live in.”
Julia Pearce
